A voice from Kurdistan to the world: An international achievement for the Kurdistan Technical Institute

In a significant scientific and academic achievement, the Kurdistan Technical Institute  was able to establish its position in international medical rankings, following the publication of one of the university's scientific papers in one of the world's most prestigious medical journals.

The paper was authored by Dr.Pega Saidi, the Director of the Center for Counseling and Social Affairs at Kurdistan Technical Institute , in collaboration with Dr. Dilshad Jaf and Dr. Zamdar Hama Rasool, and was published in the renowned international journal The Lancet.

This journal is considered one of the highest-ranking medical journals in the world, with an impact factor of 88.8 and a Q1 ranking.

The content of the article addresses a sensitive issue, namely the increase in suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts among Institute students, especially students in medical faculties. Through this publication, the researchers urge relevant authorities to take the necessary and swift measures to support and strengthen counseling centers at universities and institutions.

This achievement is scientific, not only advancing Kurdistan Technical Institute in the global medical field, but also bringing our students' voices into the sphere of international health dialogue and emphasizing the importance of the students' mental health.
