Annual Ceremony Honoring Academic Excellence and Scientific Achievement at the Kurdistan Technical Institute

(February 5, 2026) In a ceremony attended by Asst. Prof Dr.Rebwar Mala Nabi, the rector of Kurdistan Technical Institute , members of the university council, professors, and officials, the annual academic staff honoring ceremony of the university was held.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Asst. Prof Dr. Rebwar Mala Nabi, the rector of the Institute , delivered a speech in which he highlighted the historical and international achievements that Kurdistan Technical Institute has attained in recent years, particularly the Institute's recognition in global rankings such as the 'Times Higher Education' and several other centers.
The Institute administration emphasized that scientific research is the backbone of the advancement of any academic institution and stated: "We are only at this stage, but our future strategy is to work towards achieving greater academic accomplishments at the global level, and this can only be achieved through the effort and dedication of our researchers."

In another part of the ceremony, awards of honor and certificates of appreciation were presented to the professors and researchers who stood out in the past year, categorized as follows:

• Researcher of the Year: For those professors who have presented outstanding scientific research.

• Most Citations: Honoring researchers whose studies have become a reference for other researchers worldwide.
• Scopus Researchers: Appreciation for those lecturers whose research has been published in prestigious international journals.

• Most Active Department in Terms of Digital Presence: Recognition of those departments whose websites had the highest visitor rates, as an indicator of effectiveness in delivering academic information and services.

This ceremony is held as an annual event at the Kurdistan Technical Institute, aiming to encourage academic staff to continue developing and raising the scientific level of the Kurdistan region and to showcase local talents to international scientific centers.

In conclusion, the Kurdistan Technical Institute reaffirmed that it will always support and assist researchers to ensure that the institute remains a leading hub for science and technology.
